Hey and welcome to a new issue of XR News!
As you might have noticed, we decided to move on from our old branding. We came up with a completely new CI and renamed the newsletter to ‘XR News’. This makes it more clear what the newsletter is all about and helps us to target a bigger professional audience in the future. Our topics will of course remain the same: The latest articles, research, libraries and showcases related to Virtual-, Augmented- and Mixed Reality.
Now we also have a brand new website, where you can view the last issues of the newsletters and make suggestions for interesting articles and links that we should use. Find it right here:
In the near future, we will set up a database with jobs for XR professionals from developers to 3D-artists, have awesome showcases on the site and we are also currently setting up our own Slack for experience sharing and learning. We’ll keep you up-to-date on the progress of these features.
But for now, let us dive right into the topics of this issue:
We will look at the eighteen companies selected for the VIVE X accelerator program, the investment leaders of Augmented Reality in 2018, Apples and Googles newest plans for the virtual space, applications of VR like accessible design from the Virtual Reality Diversity Initiative, the newest Voices of VR podcast, and some interesting research papers.
Thank you for reading and if you like this issue, we would appreciate if you tell your friends and co-workers about it.
